There's Something About Mary

I saw Mastic Mary today at PathMark (and I hit on a cashier at Best Yet who may have been way too young for me, but more on that later ... maybe). Apparently it's too cold for her performances in front of Kohl's. She's a fixture 'round these parts and there's always wild speculation about who she is and why she's always out there singing.


She's the one on the right, in case you didn't know (no idea who the one on the left is). Anyone know about her? Is her name really Mary? Why is she always singing into a toy microphone when there's no music playing?
